Hello boys and girls,
It has been a long time coming, but here it is. The “Ride With Ted” website.
Part of me thought, do I really need a website for my YouTube channel? Isn’t the channel enough? Well, yes and no. It is if I don’t want to monetize the channel. If I want to monetize it, I need a website. So here it is.
Then I ask myself “What is this site going to do for me except be a planted flag for the channel?”
I don’t know.
Merchandise? Maybe, likely, probably. But beyond that I really hadn’t thought about it. So, I started thinking about it. For starters, it’s not going to do anything for me in the beginning except create more work for me and add another hole for money to bleed out of. BUT, hopefully as time goes by, it should in essence also become a net to catch income as well. Will it? I have no idea, but there is no harm in trying.
I thought of the other types of content that I can put on the site that would be an attraction to motorcyclists, aka you, and what I thought was that this site could be a resource for maps, routes, places, gear and reviews of all of those things and more.
Naturally, there will be direct links to the Motorcycle Men Podcast website as well and the two will work in tandem. Why two separate websites? Well, I thought about this and the bottom line is that the two are independent of each other. In fact, if anything, the channel stands to benefit more from the podcast than the other way around. The podcast may provide the sponsors, the guests, the new listeners/viewers and new products, but the Channel will reap the benefits of all of those things and, here’s where the sponsors win, they get the video reviews, see their products being used and ultimately that spells out a win for the channel AND the podcast.
Right now, both the podcast and the YouTube channel are expenses. They generate zero to an extremely minimal income. They are a labor of love. It is my hope that this website will be a means to change that. But please, understand, I do not do the podcast or this channel just for money. If I did, the podcast would not be in its 9th year and the YouTube channel would have concluded long ago. I do both because I enjoy doing it.
It is my hope that this website will help both grow and become some sort of outlet for the motorcycle community to come visit to have some fun, laugh, maybe learn something, but in the least I hope that it can be an outlet to the passion of motorcycles we all share.
Tell your friends about the channel and the podcast. Help it grow and it will help me make it worth your time.
